How does SNAP & DUFB payment work when buying a CSA?

We are proud to accept Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program SNAP & DUFB as payment! We believe good, fresh and transparent food is for all! Your farmer is busy farming so the Pacific Northwest CSA Coalition (PNWCSAC) has put in the time and effort and employs the staff person who supports your small, local farmers process SNAP. Thanks to PNWCSAC’s hard work, Good Rain Farm is able to support this payment platform and those in the community who utilize this service.

There is an initial $50 withdrawal from your SNAP account that occurs on the day you receive your SNAP benefits. Then an automatic payment will occur every month (on the day you receive your benefits) after, until the total CSA payment is reached. SNAP payments are automatically set up a payment plan option so as to avoid exhausting all your funds in one big purchase, you’ll be able to continue to go to the store for all your other purchasing and food consumption needs & wants!

Example:

You purchase a $700 Standard Share on March 15th. On our online store you’ll make all the selections your Farmers need to know to manage the logistics of getting your CSA share to you. At check out enter the code 21SNAPCSA. Your purchase will zero out and you and your Farmers receive a confirmation e-mail. That’s it! Easy peezy!

When we see the coupon code we’ll connect you with the SNAP processing employee from Pacific Northwest CSA Coalition - they’ll sort out some paperwork and details with you.

You’ll initially pay $50 during this sign up process between you and PNWCSAC.

Let’s say your benefits arrive on the 4th day of the month.

$700-$50= $650

Our shares run for 15 weeks ending in Sept. Payments begin April (the month after yours March purchase) and end in September, 6 months.   $650/6 monthly payments= $108

On April 4th $108 is automatically withdrawn from your account. You are free to spend the remainder of your SNAP on any food items that you won’t be receiving in the next four weeks from your CSA Farm.

In September you would be fully paid for the CSA! No other charges will occur unless you choose to purchase additional offerings or bulk items from the Farm when picking up your CSA or visit us at the Farmer’s Market!
